58mm x 58mm x 4200 Engineered Oak Handrail with 41mm x 8mm Groove for Spindles is a premium handrail designed for traditional and contemporary staircases using square spindles. The precision-machined 41mm x 8mm groove allows spindles to sit neatly and securely, delivering a clean, professional balustrade finish.
Constructed with a glue-laminated engineered oak core, this handrail offers excellent strength and dimensional stability while reducing the waste and cost associated with solid oak. Laminated construction helps minimise twisting, splitting, and cracking, with glued joints often proving stronger than a single piece of solid timber.
Each handrail features a solid real oak outer face, bonded to the core before machining. This outer face runs the full length of the rail in a single piece and is significantly thicker than standard veneer, allowing the handrail to be sanded and refinished over time without the risk of wearing through to the core. This makes it far more suitable for everyday use than veneered alternatives, particularly in high-traffic areas.
As with all engineered oak products, a fine joint will be present where the solid outer faces meet. These joints are carefully grain-matched and tightly finished and are typically only noticeable on close inspection. Once installed and finished, most customers would not distinguish this from a solid oak handrail.
This engineered oak handrail can be finished in exactly the same way as solid oak, including oiling, staining, or varnishing. As with all oak products, it is recommended to test finishes on an off-cut or hidden area prior to full application.
Ideal for staircases, landings, and balustrades using square spindles, this handrail delivers the appearance of solid oak with improved stability and long-term performance.
