Decking Balustrading for Raised Decks and Outdoor Spaces
Complete Balustrade Components in One Place
Our decking balustrading range covers every component you need to build a safe and finished barrier on your deck. From square and stop chamfered spindles to newel posts and utility rails, each piece is treated for exterior use so it stands up to outdoor conditions from the outset. The treated pine spindles are available in square and chamfered profiles to suit different deck styles, while the chamfered and beaded newel posts give a traditional look that works well with most timber decking. Order individual components or mix and match to build your complete balustrade system from the same range.
Treated Timber Built for the Outdoors
All the decking balustrade components in this range are pressure treated for outdoor use, which means they're ready to go into position without needing additional preparation first. The utility rails and handrail infill sit between posts and spindles to complete the structure, and the fence posts in the range are substantial enough to anchor everything securely. If you're unsure whether you need a balustrade, UK building regulations require one for any deck more than 600mm off the ground, with a minimum height of 1100mm and spindle spacing that prevents a 100mm sphere from passing through.
When it comes to decking spindles, the two most common profiles are square and stop chamfered. Square spindles give a clean, contemporary look, while stop chamfered spindles add a more traditional detail that suits period properties and classic garden settings. Both are available in treated pine, so they're ready for outdoor installation without additional treatment. Pair your spindles with a chamfered and beaded deck newel post for corner and end positions, then use the handrail infill and utility rail to complete the structure between posts. Getting the spindle count right depends on your rail length and the spacing requirements you're working to.
