2440mm x 1220mm Moisture Resistant MDF Sheets are a versatile, high-quality sheet material ideal for interior applications where improved resistance to moisture is required. Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is manufactured by breaking down wood residuals into fine fibres, which are combined with wax and resin binders before being compressed under high temperature to form dense, uniform sheets.
This moisture resistant MDF (MR MDF) contains additional additives that help reduce moisture-induced swelling, making it suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, and other humid internal environments. While not waterproof, MR MDF offers improved performance compared to standard MDF when exposed to occasional moisture or humidity.
MDF is denser than plywood and many particle boards, providing a smooth, flat surface that is ideal for painting and finishing. It is easy to cut, machine, drill, and sand, making it a popular choice for both professional trades and DIY users.
Common uses include furniture manufacture, cabinet making, shelving, window boards, mouldings such as skirting and architraves, and general interior building applications where a stable, paint-ready sheet material is required.
