Unlike reclaimed or recycled sleepers, these brand new softwood railway sleepers are supplied clean and ready to use. Each sleeper is planed to a square edge with uniform dimensions, similar to PSE timber, making them far easier to stack, align, and fix when building raised beds, retaining walls, steps, seating, or garden furniture.

Softwood railway sleepers are a popular alternative to oak sleepers, offering several practical advantages. They are significantly lighter and easier to handle, with an average weight of around 27kg, compared to 40kg or more for oak or hardwood sleepers. This makes installation quicker and safer, particularly for DIY projects. Softwood sleepers are also much easier to cut and drill using standard woodworking tools.
