47mm x 175mm (7 x 2) Sawn Kiln Dried & Regularised C24 Graded Timber is a heavy-section structural softwood designed for longer spans and higher load-bearing applications. Strength graded to C24, this timber provides reliable, predictable performance for demanding construction work.

Kiln dried to a moisture content of 20% or less, this timber offers improved dimensional stability, reduced movement, and better straightness once installed. The regularised finish (planed all round) ensures consistent sizing, typically finishing at approximately 45mm x 170mm, with eased edges for safer handling and easier fixing.

This 7 x 2 C24 timber is commonly used for floor joists, roof rafters, purlins, lintels, and load-bearing wall construction, particularly where longer spans or heavier loads make smaller sections unsuitable. It is also used in structural decking subframes and commercial framing applications where performance cannot be compromised.

C24 timber is sourced from slower-grown regions, producing a tighter grain and greater strength compared to standard C16 timber. As a result, C24 is roughly 50% stronger than C16, making it the preferred option where structural calculations specify higher load capacity.
