22mm x 200mm (8x1) Gravel Board – Treated Sawn Timber is a robust, pressure treated redwood board designed for fencing and general outdoor construction. Machined from ungraded Scandinavian redwood, this timber is suitable for external use where durability is required without the need for a structural strength grade.

Most commonly used as a timber gravel board, this treated 8x1 board is installed between fence posts to raise fence panels or feather edge fencing clear of ground level. Using a gravel board helps protect fencing from soil contact, moisture splashback, and rot, significantly extending the lifespan of the fence. Its pressure treatment makes it suitable for ground contact, which is why it performs well in this application.

The wider 200mm profile makes this gravel board particularly useful where extra height or protection is needed at the base of a fence. It is also commonly used for agricultural-style fencing, fencing rails, garden boundaries, and other general garden construction projects.

The rough sawn finish provides a traditional, practical appearance and can be painted or further treated to suit your project. While suitable for ground contact, this timber is not suitable for in-ground use such as posts buried directly into the soil. For best long-term performance, all cut ends should be sealed with a suitable preservative.
