22mm x 100mm (4x1) Treated Sawn Timber / Gravel Board is a versatile, pressure treated redwood timber suitable for a wide range of fencing and garden applications. Machined from ungraded Scandinavian redwood, this timber is designed for external use where durability is required but a structural grade is not necessary.
Most commonly used as a timber gravel board, it is installed between fence posts to raise fence panels or feather edge boards off the ground. This helps protect fencing from ground-level dirt, moisture splashback, and rot, significantly extending the life of the fence. Thanks to its pressure treatment, it is suitable for ground contact, which makes it ideal for this application.
In addition to gravel boards, this treated 4x1 timber is widely used for agricultural-style fencing, fencing rails, garden boundaries, and general outdoor construction where a simple, robust timber is required. The rough sawn finish gives a traditional appearance and provides an excellent surface for painting or further treatment.
While suitable for ground contact, this timber is not suitable for in-ground use such as posts buried into the soil. For best long-term performance, all cut ends should be sealed with a suitable preservative to maintain full protection.
